WHAT DOES A CERTIFIED HOME HEALTH AIDE DO?
A Certified Home Health Aide(CHHA) is a personal caregiver to people who need assistance in their day-to-day activities due to a medical condition, prolonged illness, physical impairment, cognitive impairment, and/or old age. The role of a CHHA can differ depending on the patient’s medical condition and specific needs. The tasks they need to do consist of assisting the patient with daily activities like bathing, eating, walking, using the bathroom, and other necessities vital to everyday living. Additionally, Home Health Aides assist patients with routine tasks like doctor appointments, bill payments, grocery shopping, and picking up medication for their care.
Our Certified Home Health Aide classes equip the caregiver with skills to cater to the patient’s medical needs such as taking blood pressure, monitoring of vital signs, and other practical skills a CHHA requires.
Upon completion all students will receive a certificate of completion and a CHHA State of New Jersey license from the Board of Nursing/Consumer Affairs.
