Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA)
Our students learn how to successfully perform an EKG, take patient vital signs and perform a blood draw. In addition to being able to prepare patients for exams and procedures along with patient chart maintenance. The program lasts for sixteen to twenty weeks.
Medical Assistants are allied healthcare multi-skilled professionals who may assist with medications, record vitals, assist with minor procedures, take medical histories including EHR (electronic health records), perform injections and vaccinations, prep patients for examinations, perform laboratory specimens, provide patient education. You may also be responsible for performing the following as required by the position: phlebotomy for diagnostic studies, CLIA waived testing, and service-line specific clinical tasks such as EKGs,drug/alcohol testing, splinting and more.
Clinical Medical Assistants combine clinical and procedural knowledge,working with all healthcare facilities to assist inpatient treatments and clinical operations. They work directly with patients and support the doctors and other healthcare professionals.
Upon completion of this course, you will receive a certificate of completion and be eligible to sit for national certification for Certified Clinical Medical Assistant certification.
