Behavioral Health Specialist is one of the essential team members in any healthcare facility. They work closely with social workers and therapists, provide patient support and much more. This course lasts about four weeks.
Our Certified behavioral health technician training program is designed to prepare individuals for employment as Direct Care Support Professionals at Residential and Out-patient facilities. You will acquire the skills needed to work in the Behavioral Health Field including Mental Health, Developmental, Intellectual Disabilities, and Drug/Alcohol Recovery. Students will learn to implement clinical interventions from a behavioral treatment plan. Working alongside doctors, nurses, social workers, and therapists you will be equipped to assist in behavioral health emergencies and utilize effective therapeutic communication.
A Certified Behavioral Specialist is a psychiatric technician who assists doctors and psychiatrists specializing in treating patients with behavioral disorders. This includes drug abuse, eating disorders, gambling issues, and alcohol abuse among others. Certified Behavioral Health Specialists by monitoring patients and recording their physical and emotional symptoms. They work mostly in residential setting facilities that may also assist with daily activities and assist in administering prescription medications.
Upon completing this training you will be given a National Certification that will allow you to work in the U.S. and Canada.
